The whole sea-bang at J. Sheekey
The leggy lovelies have arrived across the pond, strutting up a storm with non-stop fashion action at London’s Somerset House. When you need respite from the parade of new faces and willowy figures, there’s nothing quite like a glass of champagne and a half dozen oysters at nearby J. Sheekey Oyster Bar, a stiletto’s toss from the tents. It’s the perfect waistline-friendly pitstop to recharge between shows, and has proved season after season to be the chicest star on the circuit.

Tickle your pickle at Brawn
It was once commonly held that a man could starve in London trying to find a good restaurant, but that notion has long been laid to rest. More than ever, toothsome openings have been coming thick and fast and it’s not just from high end, star chefs. Thankfully, the Brit-cap has also embraced casual, small-plates eateries, as LUXE faves like Terroirs and Polpo spawn siblings, but book ahead or dine early - these places are already rammed jammed, and you may still end up starving.

It’s London week here at LUXEtasy and whilst the previous post lifted the bedsheets on boutique hotels to watch, the city’s also been boiling over with restaurant openings and it’s all we can do to keep up. Here, check out ventures from star chefs and Brit panhandling posterboys Heston Blumenthal at Dinner, two former Ramsay protégés, Jason Atherton at Pollen Street Social and Marcus Wareing at The Gilbert Scott, and offal-loving Fergus Henderson at St. John Hotel. You’ll need to book way ahead and get set to say goodbye to any chance of a sexy summer bod.

Once upon a time, visiting a museum solely for its dining establishment would have been reason enough to have you recommended for therapy. Fast forward a few years, however, and you’ll find that even the most dedicated museum-goer has had enough of cardboard-esque soup. From Terzo Piano at the Art Institute of Chicago‘s Modern Wing to Open Colonna in Rome‘s Palazzo delle Esposizioni, and now, The Restaurant at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, museum restaurants are gastronomic destinations in their own right.

Clink & drink!
Choices, choices, some of us thrive on it, while others are paralysed by it, living in fear of missing out, or of making the wrong decision. If too much choice is never enough for you, then head to 28°-50° Wine Workshop & Kitchen, in the basement of an unassuming red brick building smack in the centre of old London town, where every drop on the regular wine list is available by the glass.

Slow and spicy wins the race at Bo.lan
With Arctic conditions still sweeping across the northern hemisphere, it’s all we can do to keep our nips from freezing and breaking off. Our first post a few weeks back on our favourite spice dens was a fiery hit, so here then, are five more places close to home or in dream destinations guaranteed to warm up the cockles of your heart.
