Power to the people

“Great service, great value, great style for everyone” is the mantra of Public Chicago, the first in a new generation of über-hotelier Ian Schrager’s latest venture. The king of boutique hotel elitism, whether at The Royalton, The Mondrian, The Delano or other bastions of hip, has declared that it’s time to give people what they really want (see mantra), and nothing that they don’t. Of course, rather than being a groundbreaking idea, we think service, value and style for all should be seen as fundamentals of hospitality, but who are we to quibble when Public looks this good and seems to be holding up its pledge.
