Who's the lucky winner who'll be on that bed?
It was a tough call - just what can’t you travel without? For our October competition we received heaps of interesting, witty and downright silly responses to the question “We all have our little travel quirks like Cire Trudon candles, cashmere scanties, and that hand-embroidered purse pic of Daniel Craig, so let us know in under 50 fab, fun, feisty LUXE words what you simply can’t travel without and why, and you can be sitting poolside in paradise sooner than you think.”
We’ve trawled and sifted and ummed and aaahed through all your Leggy Lovely answers and here’s what we loved…
Many of you chose LUXE (bless you all ), several of you chose your husband (as against someone else’s presumably), but what can you say when Liz Duffy chose Toby her Brussels Griffon (awwww, we’re a sucker for a pup), and cunning Anne Parten chose her ballet slippers (French Sole, hopefully) to gracefully sidestep all those airline washroom puddles. Smart gal!
So, the 5 runners up who each receive a fabulous WORLD GRAND TOUR BOX are:

The perfect travel companion
Sarae Pratts - “I never leave home without my Burt’s Bees lipsalve, iPhone packed with movies and tunes and a bar of Green and Black cherry chocolate - sweet kissable and relaxed. Perfect way to start a holiday!” Sarae, a girl after our own heart with her priorities right – choc first, kisses later!
Elizabeth Kavetas - “Havaianas for the spa the beach and the bar, Acqua di Parma so everything always smells chic and excellent tweezers because you never know what might need plucking.” There’s nothing like a good pluck in a foreign city.
Liz Duffy - “Never travel without Toby - my Brussels Griffon! He has logged over 70,000 miles all over the world in his 5 short years. There’s no substitute for a snuggler under the covers with you when you are oh so far from home. Woof!” Oh Liz, can we come under the covers too?
Noemi Bonazzi - “Santa Maria Novella potpourri will make any place feel like home, PG Tips tea bags will keep you perky, and a feather light Loro Piana shawl will make you cosy.” Fragrant, refreshed and cosy (we’re loving PG Tips too Noemi).
Anne Parten - “Ballet-styled slippers - comfy feet and on-plane protection from ick restroom floors!” Although perhaps not so useful if you have size 10 feet, guys…
Seal that kiss
But the winner is… Ramona Sinclair - “I simply can’t travel without my portable bidet - it’s the best solution for iffy sanitary problems, like no toilet paper, or the crumbly kind, so I can feel fresh no matter where I am in the world.” You KNOW we love to rinse our bits - now thanks to Ramona we can all do it on the beach, in the jungle or even (ahem) in the bush. There’s nothing like a fresh frizzy!

The essential travel companion
Ramona start packing, you and your fragrant parts are off to the knockout Mandarin Oriental Miami to cosy up at this divine island oasis for three nights, including a dinner for two with wine at its signature restaurant, Azul, one of Miami’s best, not to mention most romantic dining destinations. The hotel boasts terrific signature spa and private beach club with canopied daybeds, hot and cold running waiters and blissful massages on call. Aaahh.
November’s competition is for three fabulous nights of grandeur at the Hotel Arts Barcelona - yowsa! Simply click on the LUXEtasy main page comp box or click on luxecityguides.com to WIN with LUXE. Smart as a carrot!
